A Framework for Building Conversational Agents Based on a Multi-Expert Model

چکیده
This paper presents a novel framework for building symbol-level control modules of animated agents and robots having a spoken dialogue interface. It features distributed modules called experts each of which is specialized to perform certain kinds of tasks. A common interface that all experts must support is specified, and any kind of expert can be incorporated if it has the interface. Several modules running in parallel coordinate the experts by accessing them through the interface, so that the whole system can achieve flexible control, such as interruption handling and parallel task execution.

A multi-expert model for dialogue and behavior control of conversational robots and agents
This paper presents an intelligence model for conversational service robots. It employs modules called experts, each of which is specialized to execute certain kinds of tasks such as performing physical behaviors and engaging in dialogues. Some of the experts take charge in understanding human utterances and deciding robot utterances or actions. The model enables switching and canceling tasks b...
متن کاملA Multi-Formalism Modeling Framework: Formal Definitions, Model Composition and Solution Strategies
In this paper, we present a multi-formalism modeling framework (abbreviated by MFMF) for modeling and simulation. The proposed framework is defined based on the concepts of meta-models and uses object-orientation to overcome the complexities and to enhance the extensibility. The framework can be used as a basis for modeling by various formalisms and to support model composition in a unified man...
متن کاملDeveloping a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...

متن کاملSimulation and Evaluation of Urban Development Scenarios Using Integration of Cellular Automata Model and Game Theory
Urban growth is a dynamic and evolutionary spatial and social process that relates to the changes of urban spatial units and the transformation of people’s lifestyles and consequently demographic changes. Considering the urban development process as a function of land uses interactions, population structure and the strategic behavior of the agents involved in the urban development process (the ...
